This mud room built-in was custom-built on site for a Houston homeowner who wanted a cleaner and more useful storage area near the entry door. The space started as a plain wall and was converted into a functional drop zone with upper storage cabinets, a built-in bench, wall hooks, and a finished back panel.
The finished design includes painted shaker cabinet doors, black cabinet pulls, black coat hooks, a shiplap-style wall detail, and an oak countertop used as the bench surface. The layout keeps the entryway organized while giving the homeowner a place to hang bags, jackets, and everyday items without cluttering the floor.
