Cabinet-Adaptation
Modified an existing laundry room cabinet system to accommodate a compact upright freezer while maintaining a clean, built-in appearance. Work included selective cabinet removal, fabrication and installation of custom drawer boxes, modification of cabinet openings, installation of new drawer slides, adjustment of existing doors and hardware, and finish carpentry to match the surrounding cabinetry. The completed project improved functionality while preserving valuable storage space within the laundry room.

About this project
This Houston laundry room presented a common challenge: the homeowner wanted to add a compact freezer, but the existing cabinetry occupied the available space. Rather than removing an entire section of cabinets and losing storage, we redesigned the cabinet layout to make room for the appliance while keeping the space organized and functional.
The project involved modifying the existing base cabinet configuration, building custom drawer boxes, and reworking the cabinet opening to fit the freezer. Careful measurements and custom carpentry allowed us to maximize every inch of available space. New drawer components were fabricated and installed to provide convenient storage above and beside the freezer location while maintaining the appearance of the original cabinetry.
The finished result blends seamlessly with the existing laundry room. The white raised-panel cabinet doors, gray countertop, and matching upper cabinets maintain a consistent appearance while providing the homeowner with both additional appliance storage and improved cabinet functionality. This type of custom cabinet modification is a practical solution for homeowners looking to improve storage without undertaking a full laundry room remodel.
We wanted to add a small freezer to our laundry room, but the existing cabinets made it almost impossible without losing a lot of storage space.
